The days since our March 12 launch have been happy, hectic and sometimes harried as we’ve endeavored to answer inquiries, thank the dozens of Twain enthusiasts from around the country who wrote to tell us “Good luck!”, set up more distribution drops, keep up with subscriptions, sift through content submissions, and put together our April issue.
Inside you’ll find an interview with outgoing Assemblywoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick, a cordial Letter to the Editor from one T. Hoax in Virginia City (with a subsequent explainer on the Washoe Canary), a fun piece on the war on gun metaphors, an opinion column on prevailing wage law, an article on the only woman to ever own Territorial Enterprise, and the true story of an invention that led to Mark Twain’s financial ruin.
Please keep the tall tales, imaginative yarns, columns and story submissions coming. Not only do I enjoy reading them, but we also need all the donated content we can get while we endeavor to get the balance sheets in the black. On that note, you will find a mail-in subscription form below or, if you prefer, the address to our online subscription page. In addition to your own, what better gift for your favorite reader?
